Life Success
For Students With Learning Disabilities:
A Teacher Guide

Resources for Fostering the Success Attributes:
Movies

Movies can be used in much the same way as books for teaching about the success attributes.  Presenting stories through sight and sound can be an excellent format for students with reading problems.  Movies might be used in place of books or as an accompanying format.  Depending on the specific circumstance, setting and purpose, movies may be shown in their entirety or limited to particular scenes, sections, or clips.  The same basic guidelines for selecting and using books may be followed when using movies.

The movies in the following list are illustrative of one or more success attribute.  Some movies include characters struggling with disabilities, others do not.  Movie ratings are provided as available.  The list is in no way intended to be exhaustive.  Rather, it is a sampling of movies that may help students understand and develop the success attributes.

Movies are listed in alphabetical order with the pertinent success attribute designated.
